Requires macOS 14 or later and a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer). Intel Macs are not supported. Signed by KiBRAX LLC and notarized by Apple.

Install and start listening

1. Download the ZIP, then double-click it in Finder to extract PagiSona.
2. Move PagiSona to your Applications folder and open it.
3. Add a text-based PDF or DRM-free EPUB, choose a voice, and start listening.

English narration with Emma and the resources for ten additional languages are included. Install the voices you want from Settings; narration runs on your Mac, without uploading your books. The native app keeps its own local library, separate from the App Store app.

What’s in this Mac preview

• Local PDF and EPUB reading with on-device voices in 11 languages.
• A native Mac library and reader, book search, copying and highlights.
• Space-bar play/pause, click a paragraph to listen from there, and adjustable text size and playback speed.
• Signed, optional app updates and dismissible product notices from KiBRAX.
• No desktop advertising enabled.

This is our first public native Mac preview. If something does not read as expected, please tell us. Scanned PDFs without a usable text layer and DRM-protected books are not supported.

More platforms are on their way

Google Play and Windows are coming soon. There is no public Android or Windows installer yet.

PagiSona is already available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. The compatible iPhone app on Apple-silicon Macs is separate from the native Mac preview offered here.

Updates from KiBRAX

Desktop previews with update support can check pagisona.com for release notices and occasional product announcements. You can turn off automatic checks in the app and check manually instead. On Mac, use “Check for Updates” to check for a signed app update. Downloads and installation remain your choice. Older previews without update support need this download once; replacing the app does not require deleting your library.

An update check does not send your books, reading history or generated speech. An internet connection is needed to check or download an update, not to read your imported books with installed voices. Update notices do not lock you out of your library.

Advertising on desktop

Advertising is off in the current native Mac preview. We have not enabled a desktop ad network or sponsorship service. Any future advertising release will explain its data handling and privacy choices before requesting ads. A website setting alone cannot activate ads in these previews.
